Meet the Facilitators


Kathleen Hastings lives in Hope, Maine. Kathleen has been working in the health field for the last thirteen years as a registered nurse. She specializes in women s health nursing; is a board certified lactation consultant and a childbirth educator. She has complimented her career by obtaining her massage therapist liscense and will often incorporate therapeutic care into her medical experiences. Kathleen works for both the Girlformation newsletter and the camps. She enjoys writing for the newsletter and is often providing healthy advice to the young women of Maine. She also takes great pride in facilitating the camps and is a great source of information for the participants. Kathleen enjoys working out, dancing and playing with her two children.

Carolyn Sayward lives in York, Maine. She has enjoyed working on GirlFormation and the creation of its program. Carolyn is a certified K-8 teacher but has taken time off of work to raise her two boys. She has worked with Girlformation since its inception. She works as the Editor to the Girlformation newsletter as well as writing columns, distributing the copies and organizing the information. She enjoys facilitating the Girlformation camps and continuously works on improving and changing the curriculum. Carolyn is also a Hatha yoga teacher and enjoys scrapbooking, quilting, painting pottery, playing with her sons, and cooking.

Christina Francis lives in Freeport, Maine. Christina is a licensed clinical social worker. She enjoys working on program development and facilitation of the Girlformation camps. She enjoys not only working directly with the participants and creating the program but also enjoys managing the administrative features for the program. Christina specializes in group therapy and her professional interests include body image, treatment for sexually abused children, relationship building, adoption , and residential care. She enjoys enriching the lives of children in need and appreciates the need for program establishment in the state of Maine. Christina enjoys reading, writing, hanging out with her family, taking care of two sons and dreaming of warm places.
